TriStar Transload expands at Port of Vancouver

The Port of Vancouver, Wash., has approved an expansion by Portland-based TriStar Transload PNW Inc. that will double the company’s operating and output capacity. TriStar transloads finished lumber and other products from truck to rail for the building materials industry.

Port commissioners have approved a 10-year lease with TriStar for approximately 6 acres in the northwest corner of Terminal 4. The company currently operates on about 3 acres at the northeast corner of Terminal 2.

The move is slated for October and construction of infrastructure at the new site will begin immediately. Preparation of the site will include paving, lighting, fencing, utilities, approximately 1,000 feet of new rail track, and storm water collection and treatment.

Tristar ships products to destinations throughout the United States and has plans to open additional West Coast facilities in the near future.
